Hunter Valley Wine School

Learn from a cellarmaster how wine is made and about the different types of grapes in a two-hour experience at the Hunter Valley Wine School, in the heart of the world-famous Hunter Valley, Australia’s oldest wine region.

On the comprehensive daily tour you’ll be guided through a vineyard and learn how wine is produced, from the grape to the bottle. You’ll discover more about the history of wine and how grape varieties are different.

The cellarmaster’s winemaking tutorial also includes a talk on the blending of wines and how to examine the bouquet, taste and colour of wine.  A wine tasting concludes the tour, which operates daily at 9am.

Reservations are essential. The wine school is in the picturesque Hunter Valley Resort in Pokolbin, amid shiraz vineyards, two hours’ drive north of Sydney.
